Explore Ludington Michigan

Ludington Michigan is a beautiful beach city along Lake Michigan, specifically the mouth of the Pere Marquette River. Ludington is one of Michigan’s top 5 tourist destinations in part due to the pristine sandy beaches, it’s nostalgic lighthouses and array of other outdoor activities. You will be charmed by this cities residents and sights of this quaint town. Come expierence small town america at it’s finest.

Consider a stroll along the bustling downtown area and the areas quaint little shops. The local stores offer antiques, jewerly, clothing and outdoor gear. The areas must see attraction includes Maude’s Garage, a converted 1930’s era repair shop and Fort Daul, a unique gift shop, which has been in business for decdes and facade emits early American scene murals. The local dining and causine with home town flavor and ambiance and hospitality.

The Historic White Pine Village lets you experience Mason County’s history in real time. It consists of about 25 well-preserved buildings, featuring exhibits and themes such as sports, farm life, education, business, transportation and health - basically what life was in the late 1800s to the mid 1900s. After this nostalgic journey to the past, have some refreshments at the Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor at the Village’s Town Hall, or browse the Gift Shop for something of the past to bring back home with you. Your visit to Ludington won’t be complete without a visit to the famous lighthouses, which give you an insight of the city’s deep maritime history. These lighthouses helped guide the boaters and their vessels from Lake Michigan to the harbour. Be sure to check out the North Breakwater Lighthouse at Stearns Beach, Big Sable Point Lighthouse, North Pierhead Light& South Pierhead Light, and the Little Sable Point Lighthouse. While you’re contemplating about the historical significance of each lighthouse, you’ll be delighted to learn that they are all excellent photographic/pictorial subjects as well.

The kids and the whole family will love AJ’s Family Fun Center, a one-stop fun complex that’s open all year round. Better allot a whole day for your trip to this amusement park - activities and rides include mini-golf, slick track, go-karts, bowlingo, rock wall climbing, laser tag and over 70 arcade games. They even have a package that includes a one night stay at a hotel nearby, along with 4 activities to choose from - perfect if the idea of driving far after the hectic day does not sit right with you (who would want that anyway, right?). Golf enthusiasts won’t be disappointed with the Hemlock Golf Club, which is a challenging 18-hole golf course designed from natural landscape by nationally celebrated architect Raymond Hearn.
